Summer Cherry-Infused Vodka
Ingredients
- 0.5 c fresh, halved, pitted tart cherries
- 1 c vodka
- kosher salt
Protocol
Place the cherries into a pint mason jar; try to get as much of the juice in as possible! Sprinkle a pinch of kosher salt over the cherries, then mush them down a little to release even more juice. Pour the cup of vodka over the top, screw closed the lid, and shake a few times. Place the jar in the fridge to steep. If you do this in the morning, you can drink it by cocktail hour, but for best results, let it sit in the fridge for a few days.
Try this cocktail: Cherry Lemon Tonic
Not a bad way to take your medicine.
- 1.5 oz Summer Cherry-Infused vodka
- 1 Tb of the vodka cherries
- a healthy squeeze of lemon juice
- tonic water
- ice
Fill a rocks glass 0.75 full of ice. Add vodka, cherries, lemon juice, and stir. Add tonic water to fill, then gently stir to mix. Enjoy!
