Jalapeño Simple Syrup
Ingredients
1 jalapeño, halved
0.5 c granulated sugar
0.5 c water
Protocol
Combine sugar and water in a small sauce pain over medium heat.
Stir until sugar dissolves.
Add either one or both of the jalapeño halves (depending on desired spice level).
Simmer for 3 minutes.
Remove from heat, cover, and let sit for 10 minutes.
Uncover and let sit for an additional 10 minutes.
Remove jalapeño from syrup and strain syrup to remove any seeds and particulates.
